How do I decline a new student?

Log into your online account to manage new student requests!

Once you’ve received notification of a new student, log into your online account. You will receive the details of the new student immediately.

If you are unable to accept the new student, select the red Decline button.

You will then be required to give a reason for the decline.

Select a reason for the decline from the drop-down menu. If there is no relevant category, choose Other.

We also appreciate additional details regarding the student decline to help us find the student another instructor.

After you have chosen your reason and added details, select the red Decline button again. The student will receive an email with the update and a Takelessons representative will contact them within one business day to start the rematching process.

Using the iOS app?

Easily access your new student requests and accept or decline by downloading the app from iTunes. You will need an iPhone or iPad running iOS v9.0 or later. (Not sure? See: What version of iOS do I have?)

(Can’t find the app on your iPad? Adjust your App Store filters to include apps built for iPhone when searching for “TakeLessons.”)

When a new student books with you, you will receive a notification on your app dashboard with the details of the new student immediately.

Scroll through the listed reasons for the decline provided in the drop down menu. If there is no relevant category, choose Other.

Please provide any additional details regarding the student decline to help us find the student another instructor. Once you are finished, tap Submit.
